How our AI phone agent works

We believe in complete transparency. Here we explain exactly what happens when you call an auto repair shop that uses AutoIntelligent.

What is AutoIntelligent?

AutoIntelligent is an AI phone agent that answers calls to auto repair shops. When you call, you speak with an AI assistant — not a human. The AI assistant helps understand your inquiry, look up your information, and book a service or transfer you to a staff member.

Important to know

The AI assistant never diagnoses and doesn't make decisions about your car. It collects information and forwards it to the repair shop's specialists, who handle all the technical work.

What happens during the call

You call the repair shop

Your call is received via an EU-based phone connection (Telnyx, Ireland).

The AI assistant introduces itself

You're informed that you're speaking with an AI assistant and that the conversation is processed digitally.

Your speech is converted to text

A speech-to-text service (Deepgram) converts your words to text in real time so the AI can understand you. The audio stream is not saved.

The AI understands your inquiry

A language model (Anthropic Claude) analyzes your text and generates a relevant response based on the repair shop's services.

The response is converted to speech

The AI assistant's response is converted to natural English speech (ElevenLabs), which you hear on the phone.

Your information is sent to the repair shop

When the call is finished, the repair shop receives a summary with your information so they can prepare your service.

What we guarantee

Frequently asked questions

Is my conversation recorded?

Your conversation is processed in real time to generate a transcript (text). The audio stream itself is not permanently saved by the speech-to-text service. The transcript is kept for up to 30 days and is then automatically deleted.

Can I speak with a real human?

Yes, always. At any time you can say "I'd like to speak with a human" or "Transfer me", and the AI assistant will immediately transfer you to a staff member at the repair shop.

What happens to my data?

Your information is used solely to handle your service inquiry. We never sell your data. Transcripts are deleted after 30 days, and customer data is deleted after 24 months of inactivity. See our privacy policy for full details.

Can the AI diagnose problems with my car?

No. The AI assistant collects information about what you experience with your car (symptoms, warning lights, etc.) and forwards it to the repair shop's mechanics. It's always a human who assesses what needs to be done.

Can I get my data deleted?

Yes. You have the right to have your personal information deleted in accordance with GDPR Article 17. Contact us at privacy@autointelligent.eu or call +45 35 15 35 52, and we'll delete your data from all systems within 1 month.

Is my data processed in the EU?

Our customer database is hosted in the Netherlands (EU), telephony in Ireland (EU), and our automation platform in Germany (EU). Some services (speech-to-text, AI language model, text-to-speech) are US-based, but we have entered into EU standard contractual clauses and conducted risk assessments for all of these.
